Home security situations and needs differ with the size of the home, number of residents, ages and interests of those residents, and the worth or value of the contents of the house. Do you live alone or with several other people? Are you or other members of your family completely healthy, or are you disabled in some way? All these factors may influence your decision regarding what is best for you and your personal security situation. Regardless of the size of your house, the number and ages of family members and the quantity of individuals you live with, everyone needs protection from break-ins, burglary, and medical and fire emergencies. Do you currently enjoy total protection from an intruder intent on taking your belongings and harming you in the process? While no one can be absolutely 100 percent protected, you can make your home environment at least 3 times more secure* by employing ADT Home Security.

ADT Security Services has top of the line wireless sensors that have the unique capability of detecting intruders before they step foot inside your property. Interior sensors are sensitive to body heat and movement and when activated make immediate contact with the closest ADT command monitoring center and the appropriate authorities. ADT Security Services, Inc has five command centers located strategically across the United States so that your call and subsequent communications are received person-to-person rather than through automation. This assures prompt and immediate response during any emergency situation. Basic equipment includes a master control panel, a key chain remote, 3 door/window sensors, a motion detector, a built-in siren, and yard and Window Signs to be prominently displayed. Signs of this nature often deter crime before it is committed. Arming the system is easy – just a touch of the key chain remote – and protection is continuous – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Paramedics, fire, and police may be summoned by a touch of the control panel whether the system is armed or not. This assures assistance within minutes of activation. The scope of protection with these systems is comparable to having a private security specialist in your home at all times. The ADT monitored security system is installed by licensed professionals who can answer any questions you might have and offer recommendations and suggestions for any additional security needs. Instruction on the operation of your system is provided as well as ADT certification for insurance purposes. Many homeowner insurance policies offer up to a 20 percent savings in premiums when an ADT monitored security system is installed. An added bonus for homeowners is that property values may increase in homes protected by ADT systems.

Keep your loved ones and home protected from intruders, crime, fire, and medical emergencies. Continuous coverage starting at $32.99 per month is a small price to pay for 100 percent comfort and peace of mind. You can rest assured that your family is safe in the privacy of your home with ADT Security. Everyone, everywhere is susceptible to crime. Your search for the best protection company has come to an end. ADT is the best in the business. Find more information about getting free system equipment and free activation – Home Security monitored by ADT.

Fast, accurate response is probably the biggest benefit of your home alarm system during a burglary, fire, medical problem or other crisis. To deliver this kind of timely response ADT leads the industry with 5 virtually fail safe monitoring centers across the United States. Most companies in the USA only operate 1 or 2 monitoring facilities. This is important to you because when those centers go down, they have no way to monitor your residence. That leaves you without any protection when you need it the most.

It looks like a decent laptop. If you are just doing some basic computing with it (i.e. word processing, surfing the web) it will be really awesome. The hard drive looks like it lacks a bit of memory (250 GB) but nevertheless, it’s really sufficient.
I think you will really like it (Acer makes fine laptops that are fast).

I’m in the market for a new laptop and have done weeks of research. Stay away from Acer and Lenovo. Acers do not have a long life span, and both have bad support. If you have a problem, you will stay on the phone for more than two hours just to talk to someone and still not resolve the problem!

It’s not really cheap to be honest…

The screen size and graphics card are pretty bad…but the processor and RAM size is decent.

I’ve got a very similar spec laptop, except mine has a 17" screen that I picked up nearly exactly a year ago for £430.

The trouble with the 13" screen is its small, you ideally need a 15.5" or bigger atleast. Because it also affects the pixels and quality of the the shown thing (movies/pictures/games).

Also, the graphics card…don’t go for ones that are integrated (basically intel ones, or others that say they are).

Most laptops that have dedicated graphics cards normally have the ATI brand…which isn’t a GPU like it would be in a PC you would buy. But it atleast would handle a few games/videos.

The problem with integrated cards (as I experienced very shortly after purchasing my own laptop) was that it sucks the processing power on games, gives choppy videos and reduces the RAM available.

But thats my advice anyway…as for the laptop your looking at, don’t buy it, atleast for the sake of getting a bigger screen.

For buying advice, retailers: Currys + PC world basically sell the same stuff (they’re owned by the same company) so you won’t see any difference in either store. Places like comet/argos/tesco online aren’t much use for deals either. There isn’t much on offer around at the moment, seeing as the pound is getting hammered in the exchange rates (we pay more for electricals).

    The following laptop is good:

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-6440.aspx

I’ve had a scan of it and its certainly up to scratch…has a dedicated graphics card, good size screen, good RAM/processer (a different brand but it’ll do the same tricks). Slightly high price though. but toshiba used to make decent laptops and is an OK brand.

Look it’s probably OK. All current laptop models are roughly the same. £50 extra and you get a slightly better spec. £50 less and slightly lower spec. The real test is the quality of the components. A rubbish Hard drive can save the manufacturer a lot of money (like Samsung for example) A lower quality (same spec) chipset on the motherboard likewise. Some I/O chips are not as good, or reliable as others, etc.etc. If you like the laptop, you can afford it, and it is made (assembled) by one of the big names (Acer, Toshiba, Dell) you should be OK. I would avoid Compaq and HP (just personal choice) and I would avoid retailers like PCWorld, Comet.

This is one of the best comparison sites around and here are all the makes, reviews, specs and prices.

In some cases they will tell you the best places to buy them from. Have a browse through as to what’s about before you make a final decision.
